became involved with 180° SOUTH by a stroke of good luck. When Jeff and the crew become shipwrecked on Easter Island she befriends them and decides that this might be the only chance she ever gets to follow her dream of climbing on ice. She commits to the trip just days before they leave her island home.

She is a Rapa Nui (Easter Island) native, surf instructor, yoga teacher and musician. Her unique perspective on the world is refreshing yet serves as a striking contrast from those of us in developed countries. She lives a life very close to nature and is a shining example of a positive human. Makohe is eager to educate other islanders about organic farming methods and sustainable living.
